Weight Loss Journey 2.0

This is an updated blog post on how keeping the weight off has been going and stories of how I lost fat in target areas. Also my plans for the 4-Months or so left of the winter season.

So…last time I made my blog post I was 159 pounds. I am now 172 pounds. I have gained some weight back but at 159 my ribs were showing. That’s not to say getting leaner wouldn’t fix that issue at 159. For a woman of 5’8″ I am supposed to be around 150 – 165 pounds. BUT…I have got a goal not to look at the scale until April. I am going to workout everyday and portion my food a little better. I’m going to switch soda to water.


Lately, for exercise, I have been doing a combination of push-up, planks, sit-ups, squats, weights, and hip hop abs at night before bed. I am trying to build stamina by doing push-ups and possibly build chest muscles up a little. So far, 2 full push-ups used to be a struggle. Now, I can do 15 in a row. I would say 20 but I am honestly not putting my head in the game. I can do a one minute plank. Side planks help with Obliques.

One major fear I have is becoming bulky. Some women love having muscles stacked on muscles, but with my attitude, I don’t wanna scare Andrew anymore. Like crushing walnuts in my fist. I just want a long, lean look like Kaley Cuoco. Super flat stomach. I was going to look into a waist trainer. Then I read something about the effects are temporary and it could damage organs. So, whatever way my body wants to go, I’m just giving free range.

I would say, I have 2 Coca Colas a day lately. Lets see at 150 Calories a can. 300 Calories a day. That’s 2,100 Calories a week. As much as we don’t like to count calories that’s 0.6 pounds a week or 2.4 pounds a month…so about 30 pounds a year switching soda to water.

So, when I said I had a story, it’s pretty important. I seen on November 20th…dimples or cellulite on the side of my thigh. I would call them dimples. It was like a noticeable piece of fat sticking out of my thigh. No joke. I used resistance bands for about 5 minute warm ups (let raises & Squats). I also did hips buns and thighs program for 2 weeks once a day to target that area. December 8th…I was looking in the mirror and they were gone. It took less than a month to smooth out that area.

Foods to eat:

  • Chicken Breasts, Pork Chops, Tuna Fish
  • Broccoli, Carrots, Leafy Greens
  • Strawberries, Blueberries, Bananas
  • Eggs, Whole Milk, Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Whole Wheat Toast, Granola, Whole Grain noodles, Brown rice
  • Cashews, Peanut Butter, Almond Butter

I went to Meijer and got my goal outfit for Spring when I go running with Millie. I can technically fit into it now. But it won’t be too loose if I have substantial weight loss this winter. Which I plan on. Shredding fat at least. A pair of shorts and the matching top to go for runs in $20 on clearance. I was going to get the pants but the shorts have a pocket for my cellphone.

Take photos and videos. I am excited to start doing this actually. I still haven’t been bold enough to do that. But I have someone on my Facebook who posts daily and it’s actually extremely encouraging. You got to do that you know. Flip the script. Some may see you as a show off. Some people may be inspired. I just don’t know.

I swear by Shaun T standing Abs. I actually want to try his insanity workout but I either need a stronger floor or do like my friend Millie said and create a gym outside. I have my laptop with a DVD player attachment. Just need to lay out a mat. I can see that happening and I am thankful she made that suggestion to me.

I think the proper amount of weight to lose per week would be 1 pound. That should get me down to 156 by April. I like losing 1 pound per week. It takes for ever but then you can avoid stretch marks and loose skin.

I am going to vacuum dance more often. I love having headphones in and cleaning or blasting the stereo. (See intro to Stephen King’s Sleepwalkers).

There is a motivational quote app I personally think is better than Pinterest and Facebook. I do believe it is growing in popularity as well. And you don’t run into anything not worth your time and it is all powerful and meaningful. Available on Play Store.

I have started new mental health medication recently. So we will see how this processs goes along with that. ❤️
